París es una de esas ciudades donde siempre me siento como en casa. Da igual cuánto cambien los nombres de las paradas del tranvía o las pandemias mundiales, la Ciudad de las luces conserva su encanto y elegancia. ¡Comenzamos el paseo!

Paris is one of those cities where I feel at home. It doesn’t matter how much the tram names change, or if a pandemic has happened, the City of Lights preserves its magnificence and elegance. Let’s go for a walk!

1. Una ruta diferente por Montmatre/ A different walk in Montmartre

El tiovivo de Place des Abbesses es un lugar perfecto para dar una vuelta por el vecindario, -pero posiblemente muchos turistas habrán tenido esa misma idea-…

Place des Abbesses and its carousel are the perfect start for a walk in the neighborhood, -but probably many tourists have the same idea as you-….

…en vez de eso, te recomiendo caminar desde Rue des Martyrs a Place St Pierre. Es un paseo agradable que te dará una idea de cómo es el Montmatre local, (y luego puedes unirte al resto de turistas en el funicular).

…instead, try walking from Rue des Martyrs to Place St Pierre. It’s a nice stroll and you’ll get a much better idea of the local Montmatre. From there you can join the crowd at the Montmatre’s funicular.

2.Passage Jouffroy y una preciosa tienda de juguetes/ Passage Jouffroy and a gorgeous toy store

París cuenta con siete galerías (conocidas como «Passages») en la orilla derecha del Sena. Pero si que tengo que quedar con una, Passage Jouffroy es mi favorita. La entrada por Grands Bulevards también la comparte el Musée Grévin y por ello suele estar muy concurrida…

Paris has 7 historical galleries in the Rive Gauche (the right side of the Seine), but Passage Jouffroy it’s my favorite among all. The entrance is normally packed with tourist visiting the Musée Grévin….

…pero si sigues caminando hacia el fondo encontrarás una preciosa juguetería, Pain d’ Epices, de la que os hablaba aquí.

…but if you keep walking towards the end you’ll find a charming toy store, Pain d’ Epices.

El lugar perfecto para coleccionistas de osos de peluche, miniaturas…y nostálgicos en general.

The perfect place for teddy bear collectors, miniature lovers and nostagics.

3. Perdiéndonos como viajeros en el tiempo: una copa en el Bar Hemingway/ Getting lost in time travel: having a drink at the Bar Hemingway

Place Vendôme es conocida por ser el escaparate de la elegancia y lujo parisinos, y el Hotel Ritz es un escenario habitual de las películas de época.

Place Vendôme is Paris’ store window of luxury and elegance, and The Ritz Hotel has been featured in many films.

¿Pero sabías por qué sus cócteles y licores son decorados con rosas y orquídeas? Dicho hotel creó uno de los primeros bares en los que las mujeres podían acceder, y posteriormente se llamó a este local Bar Hemingway, -en honor al escritor- volviéndose las flores su firma personal.

But did you know why their drinks are decorated with roses and orchids? The Ritz created one of the first bars for women, later renamed as Bar Hemingway -in honor of the writer- and the flowers became their signature element.

4. Un agradable picnic francés/ A Charming french picnic

No hay nada que sea más parisino que caminar por el puente de Alexandre III para hacer un picnic –con macarons incluidos– en los jardines de Les Invalides.

There is nothing more French than walking to the Alexandre III bridge to have a picnic in Les Invalides…and probably, macarons.

5. Marché aux Fleurs Reine Elisabeth II/Square du Vert-Galant

…pero sabías que puedes disfrutar de unas preciosas vistas al Sena desde Square du Vert-Galant si caminas en dirección opuesta?

…but did you know that you can get an amazing view of the Seine from the peaceful Square du Vert-Galant if you walk in the opposite direction?

6. Shakespeare and Company/The Abbey Bookstore

Shakespeare and Company es una de mis librerías favoritas de París, (y creo que no soy la única). Ahora el local se ha extendido y cuentan con una cafetería agradable donde puedes descansar mientras tomas una bebida orgánica.

Shakespeare and Company is one of my favorite bookstores in Paris and now the shop has expanded with a nice cafeteria where you can grab an organic drink. 

…pero sabías que a unos 100 metros se encuentra su «hermanita canadiense», The Abbey Bookshop? Un local estupendo con libros por todas partes. (¡Y probablemente estarás solo!)

…but did you know that you are about 100 meters away from its Canadian sister, the Abby Bookshop? A charming place filled with tons of books. And you’ll be alone!

7. Musée Marmottan Monet/ Visita de un día- (Day trip) Giverny

No te pierdas el Musée Marmottan Monet, donde encontrarás la colección permanente más amplia de obras de C. Monet del mundo….

Go visit the Musée Marmottan Monet , where you can find the biggest Monet permanent collection in the world….

…pero sabías que Giverny está solo a una hora en coche de París? Allí se encuentra el estudio de Monet y sus jardines, que reconocerás al instante. Visita obligada para los amantes del Impresionismo.

…but did you know that you are just one hour away from the gorgeous Monet studio and gardens at Giverny? A must visit for all Impressionist lovers.
